Charlie Pywell

Charlie Pywell is an accomplished legal professional with 14 years of post-qualification experience and a robust corporate and finance background. Charlie is a qualified solicitor in both England & Wales and the Cayman Islands and has regularly advised clients (ranging from start-ups to large multinational corporations) on corporate governance issues, including in respect of corporate responsibility and sustainability.

Until recently, Charlie was a Partner at an international offshore law firm where he specialised in providing strategic corporate and legal advice to emerging growth companies and venture capital funds, amongst others, in respect of equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, business combinations and equity capital markets. Charlie has a particular interest in environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and has advised a number of Greentech start-ups in Latin America. He has also advised on the formation of a corporate responsibility and sustainability committee (and the related charter) for a NYSE-listed company.

During his tenure at Latham & Watkins LLP in London, Charlie gained extensive experience in acquisition finance transactions, with a particular focus on US financings for European groups. Whilst employed by Latham & Watkins LLP, Charlie spent 9 months on secondment to Deutsche Bank AG, where he supported the investment-grade acquisition finance and commercial real estate businesses. He actively contributed to drafting agreements and conducting legal analysis with a focus on ESG considerations.

Charlie trained and qualified at Macfarlanes LLP in London, where he was involved in a diverse range of banking and finance transactions, including those related to sustainable industries such as healthcare and renewable energy.

In joining the board of Kiss Holdings, Charlie brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to contribute to the company’s mission of pioneering key integrated sustainable solutions. His expertise will be instrumental in guiding Kiss Holdings towards its goal of establishing a groundbreaking bioethanol production facility in the UK, designed to operate with zero CO2 emissions.
